DO YOU REALLY NEED A WORDPRESS CMS?

Tired of using a heavyweight "overkill" CMS such as WordPress? Maybe it's time to think about a DIY, roll-your-own static CMS. We think WordPress is a fine product and we use it for several of our websites. But in many instances it has just too many features, is a prime target for malicious attackers, and is constantly being updated. Updates are a necessary part of a system like WordPress, but it takes a lot of time to simply stay abrest of current changes.

PREREQUSITES

You will need a basic understanding of HTML and CSS. You will need to be able to "hack" php and javascript. By "hack", we mean understand enough to make minor changes to existing code... Google is your friend for these kind of hacks.

ADVANTAGES

Static = low maintainence and speedy pages.

DISADVANTAGES

Takes more time to set up.
